Asymptotic Freedom #6
$150.00 USD
Ink on paper, 11 x 14 in.
“Asymptotic Freedom” is a set of twelve abstract, generative paintings created with a robotic pen plotter. The robot follows instructions produced by a generative algorithm that creates a unique output every time it is run. This is the sixth painting in the series. Various gel inks were applied to 250 gsm acid-free cotton paper, measuring 11 x 14 inches (27.9 x 35.6 cm). It is signed and dated on the front and shipped flat, free of charge, globally via USPS.
We often associate algorithms with computers and other artificial constructs, but all life on Earth is the product of algorithms. This series considers the similarities between biochemical algorithms that produce life, and electromechanical algorithms that power computation.
