Catastrophic Forgetting #8
$100.00 USD
Acrylic on paper, 10 x 13 in.
𝘊𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘤 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 is a series of paintings created with a robotic pen plotter. The robot follows instructions produced by a generative algorithm that creates a unique output each time it runs. This is the eighth painting in the series.
Various acrylic paints were applied to Arches Aquarelle hot pressed acid-free cotton paper, measuring 10 x 13 in. (25.4 x 33.0 cm). It is signed and dated on the front and shipped flat, free of charge globally via USPS.
Multiple sine wave oscillation functions, combined with procedurally generated noise, alter the size and orientation of hundreds of paint strokes. Each stroke is a simple straight edge and can be one of five colors.
When combined, moiré interference patterns produce complex curving forms with depth and tonality: the emergent properties of shape and color, paint and paper.
